We're Open Tonight, Wed. June 19

We expect some clouds, but not enough to stop us! Stop on by between 9 and 10 pm to take a look through our telescopes. The sun sets late, but the sky is still beautiful.

June 2024 Public Nights

Wednesdays June 19 and 26 from 9:00 pm - 10:00 pm, weather allowing. Please check here or on social media the afternoon of the event for our weather decision!

The BSU Observatory is dedicated to educating and sparking an interest in science, particularly astronomy, in the regional community.

There is no fee for attending an observatory event, and all ages are welcome. The observatory staff will show you constellations, planets, stars, nebulae, galaxies and star clusters, and will be happy to answer your questions about astronomy. If you need accommodations, please contact us. We will be happy to make arrangements for you.

The observatory's events take place on the 5th floor of the Dana Mohler-Faria Science and Mathematics Center.  Parking is in the West Campus Lot right behind the building. You can take the right-hand elevator in the lobby all the way to the 5th floor, or you can take the central stairs to the 4th floor, then turn right twice, then take the first door on your right (it's red) up to the next floor.

Information can be found on Facebook (we are listed as the Bridgewater State University Observatory), Twitter (@BSUObservatory), or Instagram (@BSUObservatory) as well.

If you need to speak to someone about the observatory, please call the manager's office at 508-531-2093.
